I would really like to see this site become the quintessential place for leaning game development, not just doing postmortems and talking theory but covering multiple languages with tutorials on how to do everything from setting up a basic window to importing a mesh and animating it.

Many tutorials on the web and even available books are extremely out of date on things such as OpenGL, and even good/relevant DirectX tutorials can be hard too find given how often it is updated.

I have wanted to see envato made this site for a long time and have high hopes for it.

You can discuss how game engines (like UDK, Unity and CryEngine) function. You can also provide tutorials showing how to create basic games with them (2D, FPS, RTS and racing). Gradually the level of skill required can be increased.

I wanted to know the FIRST THINGS that took place in gaming industry…….???

Innovations in the gameplay mechanics, HUD’s, .

I am one of the biggest Fan no no… Cooler no no no… Air Conditioner will suit even better
Ever since i came to know about this site there has never been a moment i left to glance the site.
At first i was interested in PHOTOSHOP, but slowly this site poisoned into me the virus of GRAPHIC DESIGNING,
VECTOR ART, TEXT EFFECT and many more.

This site “gamedev tuts+” is like a boon that i never asked for, but it was my deepest desire that i wanted a site
    dedicated to GAMING.
NOW THE VIRUS OF GAMING IS GOING TO INFECT ME !!!

Just as u have done with PHOTOSHOP

  • Simon

For starting simple on iOS a 2D management/building/simulating game would be nice. Think Tiny Tower, Happy Street, etc. No extensive graphical work, just some simple building animations, a simple build ui and some calculations involved to generete income/happiness etc.

I would love to focus on mobile game development using Flash and Adobe AIR for Android and iPhone. Any game programming (or any programming really, because as an artist I know how to handle the graphics part, just not the coding too well) tuts using AS3 are a plus for me, learning actual programming techniques and tactics like how to use loops properly, arrays, etc. I might even have some articles to contribute as I have been toiling away in this arena for a couple years now and have learned a few tricks for dealing with certain problems.

  • Adri

I would love to learn how to make a user interface. I’m a Graphic Design student with almost a decade of experience with Photoshop. I’d to break into the Video Game industry as User Interface designer.

  • Collin Phillips

Python game development with Pygame! I’ve been trying to get into it and there is just so many things that I need to learn more about to truly develop what I want. Maybe even go a step further and do a series on C++ and SDL. I see a lot of preprocessors and game making software on here, but nothing really behind the scenes (except maybe the flash physics tutorials, but that is debatable). It would be nice to know how to actually PROGRAM the game, not just use someone else’s software to make one. I hope you consider this and look forward to seeing what is next!

How about some tutorials on a mmo to be able to code, model and design an indie version. Like of grand theft auto, saints row and apb reloaded. But nothing similar to it but something of ways of creating one?
